AIR MONITORING PROCEDURES

The purpose of the experiment was to determine whether motorcycles or cars produce and contribute a larger portion to the environment. Logically motorcycles are generally more fuel efficient than cars, they burn less gas and thus they must be better for the environment. Therefore, it can be said that surely motorcycles will show the better result than water. Well, lets test it using the give procedures below.

1.     Set-up the instrument of the HORIBA Auto Emission Analyzer JA 50230

2.     Let the equipment to stabilize first for five minutes after start up

3.     Place the rod that is attached to the equipment into the exhaust of the vehicles. Make sure that the rod is inserted full (The deepest it can be inserted)

4.     Power up the vehicles

5.     1^st reading was taken after 15 seconds of IDLE

6.     2^nd reading was taken after 15 seconds of maintaining at RPM2

7.     3^rd reading was taken after 15 seconds of maintaining at RPM3

8.     Make sure to record or capture the CO2, HC and CO displayed on the equipment

9.     Repeat the steps for the all other vehicles of 5 cars and 5 motorcycles.

10.  Tabulate the results recorded.
