NOISE POLLUTION ASSESSMENT
Week 1
Location : Tol Sempang Ampat, Melaka
Time : 530 p.m. - 630 p.m.
Day: Every wednesday (for 5 weeks)

Wednesday: 26/10/2016, 5:00 p.m. Our team arrived at the location (Tol Sempang Ampat) to start our task.Things were set up according to the procedure properly. Literraly the wheather was fine throughout the activity. Why did we choose this location?…. As we know, the tol is the main spot for transportation such as cars, motorcycle, lorries and other land vehicles passes by here. Moreover, Tol Sempang Ampat is the one of the main attraction that tourist will go for an exit. I bet there’ll be lot of busses specifically we can say tour bus will pass here. Besides, on behalf of my team choosing the time at 5-6 p.m. is because at that particular time, is the peak hour for people who are going back home from their respectives workplace. So cant you guys imagine what is the surrounding like at that time when we are doing the task. We are taking the reading of how much noise pollution is gonna produced at that hectic road at that hour.

Week 2 of hustle and bustle at the Sempang Ampat tol :/

Here comes the new episode for the task, we ve come to the second week on doing the task regarding noise pollution!! The procedures were still the same in setting up the equipment. But there’s one interesting part about this task for this week is because on during we were running our project, our location where we placed our equipment were covered by this one not feeling guilty driver who park his really “nice” van right infront of us. At first we were like… never mind, and just neglect it, as we thought that the driver wanted to park his van for awhile to take a rest, but after several minutes then, we decided to ask them driver to move his vehicles away from our site nicely. As we know, this unpredictable things can happen anyway out of the blue..From that we can say that there was barrier (the van) during we were running our task back then. Our reading was disturb maybe because of that incident, but it’s just fine as it was all experience after all
NOISE POLLUTION PROCEDURE
1.Place the rotating weather monitoring station at the stand.
2.Locate the sound level/noise monitoring 1 meter from the stand.
3.Measure the distance between the sound level/noise monitoring and the source by using a tape
4.Measure the distance from the rotating weather monitoring station to the ground.
5.Record the reading of the digital weather monitoring station.
6.Set the sound level/noise monitoring to record.
7.Stop recording after an hour.
8.Repeat the similar procedure for the 5 consecutive days to collect the total noise recorded.
